Zelenci natural reserve is located near the town of Kranjska Gora in Slovenia. We stopped there on the way home from our trip. It is the source of Sava Dolinka River. At Zelenci Springs the water from an underground creek re-emerges through the porous bottom of a 2 meters deep lake, that is noted for its deep, brilliant green color.
Road to the lake leads trough a beautiful forest that offered Bongo a lot of interesting smells as the area is home to numerous endangered animal and plant species.
When you reach the Zelenci Lake you can follow a wooden footbridge, that follows to the lake and leads around the swamp. The scenery is particularly beautiful on sunny summer days when you can really see the colors of the lake and the surrounding greenery.
